Stand-Up Comedian & Actress Known for "Parks and Recreation"

Actress and comedian Retta has delighted audiences with her comedic précision and humorous performances, from making homeowner’s renovation dreams come true on "Ugliest House in America" to playing the beloved Donna Meagle on "Parks and Recreation" to her dramatic turn as Ruby Hill on the NBC hit series, "Good Girls."

In addition to her successful performance career, Retta is also a critically acclaimed author, publishing her first work entitled "So Close To Being the Sh*t Y’all Don’t Even Know." She also narrated her audiobook version.

Over the years, Retta has appeared in multiple shows and movies, including The Kroll Show, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Key and Peele, Comedy Central Presents...Retta, Good Boys, Middle School: The Worst Years of my Life, Father Figures, and Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star. She is also the title voice on the successful Audible Original audiobook Tinaca Jones.

Growing up in New Jersey to Liberian parents, Retta graduated pre-med from Duke Uni-versity. After graduation, she took a year off before medical school to work as a chemist before committing to pursue her dream of becoming an actor. Retta started out doing open mics in Los Angeles and soon became a must-see act on the college circuit, ultimately winning Comedy Central's Laugh Riots Stand-Up Competition. This win led to an appearance on the New Faces Showcase at Montreal's Just For Laughs Comedy Festival. This performance led to a development deal with ABC/Disney.
