Rey Ramirez is a versatile HR Leader with entrepreneurial passion, diverse industry experience, and a strong track record of success in HR.
In 2020, Ramirez and his partner Jason Walker founded Thrive HR Consulting. This Austin, TX, and Denver-CO-based HR advisory firm seeks to augment HR needs for organizations, particularly those operating in demanding, fast-paced environments. The firm provides fractional HR services for leading, managing, or providing guidance in all facets of HR. Its unique model is especially useful for companies that need expertise and guidance in the areas of executive coaching, mergers and acquisitions, employee relations, diversity and inclusion and belonging, compliance, payroll, global HR expertise, talent acquisition, and digital workforce transformation but do not require full-time support.
Further showcasing his versatility, Ramirez has had experience with start-up organizations and consulting services, holding key roles at Dietrich & Company LLC, Deloitte Consulting, RGP Consultants, Francisco Partners, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Cable and Wireless Communications, BMC Software, Electronic Arts, and Cisco Systems, among others. He has completed over 50 transactions in his career and exhibits a focus on strategy execution and total rewards in the HR field.
Ramirez is a regular speaker at industry conferences, including WorkHuman Live, HR M&A Annual Conference & Training, South Texas HR Symposium, Denver Startup Week, HR Florida State Conference & Expo, Rocky Mountain Total Rewards Association events, Chicago HR M&A Round Table, Denver HR group, Georgia World Cannabis Conference, and The Grow Tradefest. He also frequently shares his insights through articles and interviews with media outlets such as CNBC, Bloomberg Tax, Thomson Reuters, HR Dive, and Protocol, among others. His speaking topics include mergers and acquisitions, diversity, inclusion and belonging, the future of HR, developing high-performance teams, and how to get things done!
Ramirez holds a Master's Degree in Human Resource Development from Amberton University and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (B.B.A.) from St. Mary's University. He is also a Prior Board Member of Avance Dallas, further attesting to his skills in building relationships within the business community.

Navigating the Emerging Cannabis Industry: Driving Growth through Reorganization and M&A
Marijuana companies raised $116.8 billion in capital in 2019, according to cannabis industry research firm Viridian Capital Advisors and we can expect this trend to continue.
