Rich Praytor

AGMA’s “Best Comedian of the Year”

Rich Praytor—clean comedian, motivational speaker and best-selling author—has people of all ages laughing and experiencing what God has for them. In his testimony, he tells of asking God to “give me a creativity that would be funny to both Christians and non-Christians. I don't want to alienate anyone. If you're a believer, I want you to be encouraged in your walk. If you're not, then I want you to know that there is hope in Jesus Christ. And I want to make you laugh hysterically."

After graduating college at the University of Texas at El Paso, Rich moved to Los Angeles to learn the craft of stand-up comedy. He spent several years in the comedy clubs learning what was funny and what was not, but he remained true to his faith by staying “clean” in every situation.

Rich performs nationally at conferences, churches and concerts and is a frequent guest on various radio and television networks, including ABC, NBC, CBS, TBN, PAX and The Gameshow Network. His Comedy You Can Believe In routine has won numerous awards, including the American Gospel Music Award for Best Comedian of the Year. In 2004, Rich released Road Rage and River Dancing, a comedy DVD that is a top-seller at his shows. He also has a CD entitled This Little Piggy Went to SuperCuts. He also wrote a humorous devotional book, A Stand-Up Comic Sits Down with Jesus. His latest project, Prank 3:16, a unique television show that teaches the truths about the Bible, illustrates biblical truths through elaborate practical jokes.
