Gun Rights Advocate; Former NRA Lobbyist; In Favor of Gun Control for Convicted Felons, the Mentally Unstable & Unsupervised Juveniles

Richard Feldman, President of the Independent Firearm Owners Association, Inc. is the author of the book “Ricochet, Confessions of a Gun Lobbyist” (Oct ’07 Wiley & Sons), runs a marketing and communications business. He is a Keynote Speaker, on "Power, Politics and Public Advocacy" with a specialization in legislative and regulatory advocacy.

Formerly the Executive Director of the American Shooting Sports Council (ASSC), he was responsible for organizing, and directing the national trade association for the firearm industry. He is perhaps best known for negotiating a firearm safety agreement with the White House leading to Rose Garden announcement with President Clinton in October, 1997.

Prior to the ASSC he was the northeast political and legislative director for the National Rifle Association following his White House appointment to the Commerce Department in the Reagan administration.

A graduate of Union College and Vermont Law School, he is a member of the DC Bar Association and an active member of his local Rotary Club.
