CTO and Co-founder, Coulomb Technologies

Mr. Richard J. Lowenthal co-founded Coulomb Technologies, Inc. in 2007 and serves as its Chief Technical Officer. Mr. Lowenthal has been Vice President of Licensing & Business Development of Encore Software Inc. since December 2001. Mr. Lowenthal oversees all acquisition of brands and licensed content, as well as the establishment of third-party co-publishing partnerships for Encore. Mr. Lowenthal serves as a Consultant to development stage companies and a City Council Member. Since December 1998, he has secured the exclusive, interactive rights to world-class brands and content including Sony's Wheel of Fortune & Jeopardy, Hasbro's Monopoly & Scrabble, US Playing Card's Hoyle, Marvel's Daredevil, Sesame Street, Family Tree Maker, Crayola, National Geographic, and Prolific Publishing's Marine Aquarium. Mr. Lowenthal spearheads Encore's third-party co-publishing business through international partnerships with companies such as PC Tools (Spyware Doctor), JoWooD Productions, Ascaron and Monte Cristo. He served as Chief Executive Officer at Coulomb Technologies, Inc. Mr. Lowenthal joined Encore in April 1997 as a Product Manager and was quickly promoted to Senior Product Manager, where he oversaw the licensing and release of numerous successful product lines before becoming Licensing Manager, and eventually Head of all licensing and strategic business development. For the three years prior to Encore, Mr. Lowenthal served as the Marketing Manager for a high-tech consumer electronics company as well as a sales & marketing representative for a software firm specializing in high-end practice management software systems. He served as Mayor of Cupertino, Calif. Mr. Lowenthal held a variety of Senior Executive positions with Technology Companies, including Vice President of wide area networking access product division of Cisco Systems, Inc. Prior to Cisco Systems, Mr. Lowenthal served as Vice President, Research and Development for StrataCom Corporation, a Telecommunications product development and Manufacturing company acquired by Cisco in 1995. He was Co-founder and served as Vice President of Engineering at Stardent Computers, Vice President of Engineering at Convergent Technologies and as Co-founder of Pipal Systems Inc., a development stage company acquired by him in January 2003. Mr. Lowenthal serves as Director of Coulomb Technologies, Inc. Mr. Lowenthal serves as Director of Santa Clara County Metropolitan YMCAs, the Cupertino National Bank, Cupertino Community Services, the Rotary Club of Cupertino and the Fremont Union High Schools Foundation. He served as a Director of Riverstone Networks Inc., since February 6, 2003. Mr. Lowenthal holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and graduated with high honors from the University of Texas in Austin with a B.S. in Aerospace engineering, earning the school's prestigious Presidential Scholarship.
