Richard Maxwell

Co-Author, The Elements of Persuasion: Use Storytelling to Pitch Better, Sell Faster & Win More Business.

Richard Maxwell, a student of French theater master Jacques Le Coq, first met Bob Dickman at Goddard College where they appeared together on stage in a number of productions. Later, they both did post graduate studies with Oscar Icahzo at the Universidad del Norte in Arica, Chile.

Richard “Max” spent the classic starving writer period in Manhattan – working as a freelance journalist, an avante-garde playwright, and doing stints as a professional political consultant and meditation instructor – before getting married, getting serious, and getting his ass to LA to write for the movies. His feature films include: “The Challenge” (John Frankenhiemer, dir.), “The Serpent and the Rainbow” (Wes Craver, dir.) and “Shadow of China” (Mitsuyo Yanagamiche, dir.) He has been writer/producer on the television shows: “The Sentinel,” “Gene Roddenbury’s Earth: Final Conflict,” “Pensacola, Wings of Gold” and “18 Wheels of Justice,” and he has written pilots for CBS, UPN, and Lions Gate.

As a “script doctor” he has written and rewritten films for every major Hollywood studio, and many independent filmmakers. Mr. Maxwell is a lifetime member of the Writer’s Guild of America, West and currently serves on its credits committee.
