Richard Rawlings

Entrepreneur, Television Personality & Car Enthusiast: Know as the Host of "Fast N' Loud" on the Discovery Channel

Richard Rawlings is an American entrepreneur, television personality, and car enthusiast from Fort Worth, Texas. Founded in 2004, Rawlings’ “Gas Monkey Garage” was brought to global stardom by the Discovery Channel reality television series "Fast N' Loud," which premiered in 2012 and showcased his passion for restoring and flipping classic cars. Between owning multiple restaurants/venues, having his own Tequila and Energy Drink, selling merchandise worldwide, and sponsoring some of the top names in automotive racing, Richard Rawlings only knows one speed and its full throttle.

Before his television career, Rawlings had a diverse range of experiences. Before he could legally drive, he began delivering newspapers while scouting his neighborhood for car deals. He’d later go on to be a policeman, firefighter, and EMT in his early adulthood. His lifelong love affair with cars propelled him to his dream of creating a world-renowned hot rod shop where he could share his enthusiasm and knowledge with others.

"Fast N' Loud" became an instant sensation, captivating audiences with its thrilling blend of automotive restoration and high-stakes business deals. Rawlings, with his larger-than-life personality and relentless work ethic, led his team at Gas Monkey Garage to restore classic cars to their former glory while turning them into jaw-dropping custom creations. The shows success not only solidified Rawlings' status as a global television personality but also cemented Gas Monkey Garage's reputation as a premier automotive restoration shop.

Rawlings' journey has been chronicled in his best-selling book, "Fast N' Loud: Blood, Sweat and Beers." This compelling memoir takes readers behind the scenes of his television career, offering an intimate glimpse into the challenges, triumphs, and wild adventures that have shaped his life. Through his writing, Rawlings shares not only his automotive expertise but also valuable insights into building a successful brand and navigating the fast-paced world of television.

Rawlings has not only built a successful career but also dedicated himself to making a difference in the lives of others through the Gas Monkey Foundation. His largest source of inspiration for the foundation has been from his personal experiences with his father's battle with Alzheimer's. Witnessing the challenges his father faced and the impact it has had on his family, Rawlings was moved to create an organization that could support those affected by similar circumstances. To date, the Gas Monkey Foundation continues to make a lasting impact and has donated over $1 Million to various charities around the world.

After almost 400+ episodes of cable TV, Richard Rawlings and Gas Monkey have cut the cable and brought their love for classic cars online. With multiple new episodes premiering every week on YouTube and Facebook, Rawlings is creating a full content house all around what he loves to do best- drink beer and play with cars.
