As a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, he also belongs to the Personal Financial Planning Division of the AICPA and has been accredited as a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) through the AICPA. He was a contributing editor to the Financial Planning Section of the Journal of Accountancy and was the personal finance columnist for a number of years to TODAY, the official publication of the Associated Funeral Directors Association. Rick taught the Personal Finance and Investments course for a number of years at a local university and was a co-author of the book The Deferred Compensation Plan.

As a frequent speaker and author on the subject of personal finance, he truly enjoys educating the public.

Rick is also a member of NAPFA, a professional association of fee-only financial advisors.
