Rick Chromey

Inspirational Edutainer. Leadership Imagineer. Cultural Explorer.

Small is definitely tall when it comes to Dr. Rick Chromey as his story is a testament to persistence, patience and an unstoppable purpose to change the world, one person at a time. Though raised in poverty, bullying and abuse, Rick has never allowed his past or present to define his mood, methods or mission. With every obstacle, he's found the opportunity and in every problem discovered possibility. And he loves to share his infectious optimism with audiences of all types and stripes.

If you're looking for insight as well as inspiration, you'll hit paydirt with Rick and his motivational message to "lead from the edge!" Dr. Chromey has an earned leadership doctorate with special studies in emerging culture, semiotics and e-learning. He's served two colleges and one university as a youth and family ministry professor (1992-2007) and has worked with business, schools, organizations, non-profits and other family institutions for nearly three decades. Rick is a sought-after leadership and educational consultant plus a best-selling author of four nationally-published books. He's also been a pastor, actor, newspaper reporter, preteen columnist and authored over 150 articles for leading periodicals, journals and other publications. His famous leadership and educational quips like "if you don't prepare, you repair" and "feed the need not the greed" have inspired thousands of parents, teachers and leaders to think different about how they motivate their children, students and employees.

Rick loves people and it's not surprising that people love Rick. You'll find him hanging out in the back of the hall both early and late, between sessions, chatting with participants and spending extra time to help someone with a problem. For Rick the audience is the true star and maybe that's why every year he speaks to thousands of children, teens and adults annually on topics ranging from motivation to creative communication to cultural change. He also shares regularly on the local Boise KTVB-NBC television segment "It's Your Business."

Rick has been married 28 years and has two grown children. In his free time, he enjoys watching baseball, reading history and music bios, tropical fishkeeping, fantasy sports, collecting Top 40 songs and traveling to new places (like yours!).
