Dr.Klausner is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Lyell Immunopharma, Inc. He is also the Cofounder and Executive Chairman of Mindstrong, Cofounder of Lifemine Therapeutics and Director of Xtremity Prosthetics. He was the founder and director of Juno Therapeutics and GRAIL, and the former Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Officer of Illumina Corporation. Previously, he has also served as the Executive Director for Global Health of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Appointed by Presidents Clinton and Bush as the Director of the U.S. National Cancer Institute between 1995 and 2001, he has served in senior advisory roles to several internal governments. Well known for his work in cell and molecular biology, immunology and human genetics, he has authored more than 300 scientific articles and several books and is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Medicine and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
