Richard (Rick) Kurt Lindquist II is an American writer, entrepreneur, and investor. He is currently the President of Zane Benefits, the leader in defined contribution healthcare solutions. Zane Benefits works with brokers, agents and CPAs to transition businesses to defined contribution health benefits solutions. Rick joined Zane Benefits in 2007 and was appointed President in 2011.

Lindquist was born and raised in North Carolina. He earned a B.S. in Economics and a B.A. in Computer Science from Duke University in 2007.

In 2007, after graduating from Duke University, Lindquist joined Zane Benefits as its 13th employee to distribute defined contribution group health plans. The mission of Zane Benefits is to provide small businesses with simple and friendly healthcare solutions. Zane Benefits offers Software-As-A-Service (SAAS) solutions that allow small businesses to reimburse employees for individual health insurance.

Lindquist served in several roles before he was appointed to Director of Sales of Zane Benefits in 2009. Since 2011, he has served as the President of Zane Benefits. As President, Lindquist has been critical in the development of the firm’s flagship product, ZaneHealth, and in ensuring its compliance with IRS regulations, ERISA, HIPAA, and the market reforms of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Lindquist is a sought after speaker and reference for his expertise on defined contribution health plans. In June of 2014, Lindquist and Zane Benefits were featured in an article on the front page of the New York Times Small Business Section. The article explained how Zane Benefits’ software addresses the challenges small businesses face in offering health insurance, and the importance of compliance. Zane Benefits has also been featured on the front page of The Wall Street Journal and USA Today.
