Robbie Gould

NFL Kicker, Broadcaster & Philanthropist

One of the most accurate and consistent kickers in NFL history and one of the most sought out athletes in Chicago, Robbie Gould has quickly made a name and home for himself in the Windy City. He is one of the players in franchise history with 1,000 points, and was the first placekicker in Chicago Bears history to be selected to the Pro Bowl after leading all kickers with 143 points during the 2006 season.

A graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Business Management, Gould knows and understands the meaning of hard work. A walk-on to the football team his freshman year, Robbie worked diligently to earn a scholarship that began his sophomore year. He completed his collegiate career ranked 5th on Penn State's all-time scoring list and was also named one of two recipients of the Frank Patrick Memorial Total Commitment Award. This achievement, annually presented to junior class members, is given to those who dutifully complete responsibilities in all facets of the football program and do so in an exemplary manner.

After graduation, Robbie entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent by New England, but after a short time, he was waived. Following, the Baltimore Ravens had asked Robbie to join their team, but he was again released. Disappointed yet still determined, Robbie returned to Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, and began working a 9-5 job at a local construction company. It was in the fall of 2005 when Robbie received a call from the Chicago Bears inviting him to hop on a plane to Chicago to try out for their team.

As a new father, Robbie knows and understands the importance of putting family first. While not on the football field or spending quality time with those closest to him, he is often spotted around Chicago at personal appearances, on the golf course, and at public and motivational speaking engagements. In the November 2013 issue, Robbie was featured as one of Chicago Social’s key philanthropists and is often seen on Chicago’s top broadcast stations including: ABC, FOX, NBC, WCIU, ESPN1000 Radio, as well as national outlets including: ESPN, NFL Network, and NBC's The Today Show.

Gould recognizes his true accomplishments beyond the football field, and in 2011 he started his public charity, The Goulden Touch. With a mission to help those in need, the charity focuses its giving efforts under four Goulden Rules: Education, Health & Wellness, Medical Research, and Social Service. In 2013 alone, The Goulden Touch gifted close to $300,000 to local Chicagoland and Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, charities.
