Former GM Vice Chairman and contributor to CNBC and Forbes.

Robert A. Lutz is the former Vice Chairman of General Motors. He retired in May 2010 after a 47-year career in the global automotive industry, which included senior leadership positions at four of the world's leading automakers. He founded Lutz Communications, a universal business consulting firm with an emphasis on businesses in motion, and is co-founder of VL Automotive, a manufacturer of the Destino sedan.

He is a contributor to CNBC and Forbes. He also serves as chairman of The New Common School Foundation and is a member of the Board of Trustees for the U.S. Marine Corps University Foundation, as well as vice chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Marine Military Academy in Harlingen, Tex..

Lutz joined the Transonic Combustion Inc. board of directors in May 2010. He serves on the board of directors of VIA Motors, EnerG2 and NanoSteel, and is on the advisory boards of Alexander Proudfoot and Current Motor. He is a senior advisor to Katskin.
