Robert Ashton is a social entrepreneur and business author. He created the Norfolk Community Foundation in 2005. It is now close to having a 4 million endowment. In the past year the Foundation has distributed more than 1 million in grants to voluntary and community groups.

He has written 12 best selling business guides which have proven to be big hits both around the UK and internationally with his work being translated into 18 languages. Half the proceeds of his book, I Know Someone Like That, are donated to the 'Time to Change - lets end mental health discrimination' campaign which is run by Stuff Stigma, a think tank that Robert founded. In his foreword to the book the actor Stephen Fry wrote: "A magnificent counterblast to the stigma and prejudice, ignorance and fear that afflicts the realm of mental health in this country I recommend this to everyone, for as the title suggests, we all know someone..."

Robert is also a director of Ethecol an ethical credit & debit card payments processing company and is a Patron of Hertfordshire Action on Disability, who supply equipment that help Hertfordshires disabled people maintain their independence.
