Former U.S. Treasury Secretary & Chair of the Council on Foreign Relations; Senior Counselor at Centerview Partners

Robert Rubin is a senior counselor at Centerview Partners, since 2010. In his role at Centerview, he serves as a sounding board and advisor to clients across the firm’s various activities, bringing years of experience in finance and public policy. He was a director and senior advisor at Citigroup for ten years prior.

Rubin served as the U.S. Treasury secretary from 1995 to 1999, having previously been economic policy assistant to the president and first director of the National Economic Council. In 2005, he was one of the founders of The Hamilton Project, an economic policy project housed at the Brookings Institution.

Mr. Rubin is chairman emeritus of the Council on Foreign Relations. He is the author of the best-selling book In An Uncertain World. He is a member of the Harvard Corporation, on the board of trustees of Mount Sinai Medical Center, and chairman of the board of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation, which is the nation's leading community development support organization with 38 offices nationwide.
