Robert Espinoza holds the position of Executive Vice President of Policy at the Paraprofessional Healthcare Institute, a role that has positioned him as a nationally recognized expert in aging, caregiving, and long-term care workforce issues. He is also a Nonresident Senior Fellow at The Brookings Institution. Espinoza's expertise and innovative approaches to issues of care have seen him selected for the first-ever CARE 100 list of the most innovative people working to re-imagine how we care in America today and named as one of Next Avenue's 2020 Influencers in Aging.

In 2021, Espinoza provided his expertise to Congress, testifying on the interventions needed to strengthen the direct care workforce. He also serves on the board of directors for multiple organizations, including the American Society on Aging, the National Academy of Social Insurance, and the FrameWorks Institute. These roles provide him with a platform to influence policy and practice in the field of aging and caregiving, further solidifying his reputation as a leading voice in these areas.

Over the years, Espinoza has been appointed to several influential panels that shape the discourse around aging and healthcare issues. In 2015, he was appointed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to its Advisory Panel on Outreach and Education, demonstrating his valued input in this sector. The same year, he was appointed by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine to its Forum on Aging, Disability, and Independence. In 2018, his expertise was once again recognized when he was appointed to the Academies' Committee on the Health and Medical Dimensions of Social Isolation and Loneliness in Older Adults.
