Robert P. Friedland MD  

Professor of Neurology

Dr. Friedland is a clinical research neurologist devoted to the study of brain disorders associated with aging. He is a graduate of the CCNY and the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York. He worked in the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory of UC, Berkeley. and from 1985-1990 he was Chief of the Section on Brain Aging of the NIH. At CWRU in Cleveland, he was Chief of the Laboratory of Neurogeriatrics 1990-2008.

In 2008 he joined the faculty of the University of Louisville, as Rudd Chair and Professor of Neurology. His work has focused on clinical and biological issues in Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders, with collaborators in the USA, the UK, Japan and Israel. In 2020 he was on sabbatical leave at the Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine. His Book “Unaging: The Four Factors that Impact How You Age” will be published by Cambridge University Press in October 2022.
