Trainer and Nutritionist for the Dr. Phil Show; Author of "Make Over Your Metabolism"

Born and raised in northern Indiana and a firm believer in hard work, dedication and honoring commitments, Robert Reames brings to his clients over 20 years of experience in the world of health, fitness, nutrition and wellness. His strong athletic background teamed with being overweight as a child continues to fuel his passion for the fitness nutrition industries with a special focus on one-on-one, personalized strength and conditioning.

Upon graduation from Ball State University, (his two favorite movies are still "Hoosiers" and "Rudy") Rob came to Los Angeles to continue pursuing his education and obtained his strength and conditioning certifications from well respected organizations in the health & fitness industry including: National Strength & Conditioning Association; Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist; American Health Science University, Certified Nutritionist; National Academy of Sports Medicine; Certified Personal Trainer (advanced level), Resistance University; Resistance Training Specialist, American Academy of Health Fitness & Rehabilitation Professionals Medical Exercise Specialist, Post-Rehab Conditioning Specialist, Certified Resistance Equipment Analyst and is a Golf Conditioning Specialist. He is also a professional member of the International Association of Fitness Professionals, American College of Sports Medicine and the National Strength & Conditioning Association. Robert believes strongly that continuing education is a lifelong endeavor and constantly provides his predominately executive clientele with the latest research in exercise science as well as the most current information in the field of health, wellness, weight loss, nutrition, anti-aging, sports specific training and injury prevention. Rob also brings to the table over thirteen years of experience in the development, design and implementation of home and commercial gyms.  His strong foundation in biomechanics gives him vast knowledge of the exercise equipment industry.

Early on in his career Rob recognized the importance of aerobic conditioning for general conditioning and sports performance and making it fun to keep people motivated. He developed his own unique brand of training classes and became a "standing room only" group instructor for two of the most prominent health clubs in L.A.

Rob is currently in his third season as the official trainer and nutritionist on the nationally syndicated program, The Dr. Phil Show.  He has appeared as a fitness and nutrition consultant on programs such as The CBS Early Show, KTLA Morning show, QVC, as well as appearing as a member of the Extreme Team on ABC’s Extreme Makeover.  Rob recently appeared with Melissa Rivers on her new show The Craze for the Discovery-owned network, Fit TV.  Rob hosts the highly acclaimed Extreme Makeover Weight Loss For Beginners DVD, distributed by Buena Vista Home Entertainment.  He continues to make appearances in both television and radio for local and regional talk, news and magazine shows nationwide as well as live presentations and speaking engagements.  Rob has also contributed or been featured in Fitnessmagazine, E Pregnancy magazine, Family Circle, Prevention, Self, Sonikmagazine, Sweatmagazine, Oxygen, and contributed on a regular basis for Dr. Phil’s Next Level magazine.  His articles and columns appear on www.drphil.com and he continues his role as a contributor for the show’s website as well as in “Ask The Experts” on www.precor.com and www.gophysical.com representing the Mio Heart rate monitor.
