Robert Ring is chief science officer for Autism Speaks. A neuroscientist, he leads a diverse portfolio of research investments and has forged a partnership with Google to develop an open database providing the complete genomic sequence data of individuals with ASD. Ring holds separate adjunct faculty appointments in the Mount Sinai School of Medicine Psychiatry Department and Drexel University Department of Pharmacology and Physiology. He was previously senior director and head of autism research at Pfizer and worked in psychiatric medicines discovery and development at Wyeth Research. Ring serves on the Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee of the US Department of Health and Human Services.
