Rocío Medina van Nierop is a leader and public speaker who advocates for tech diversity and inclusion while lifting our underrepresented minorities. After working in the Tech industry for 15 years, van Nierop left her Tech job to dedicate all her energy to her full-time passion, Latinas in Tech. Latinas in Tech is a non-profit organization van Nierop co-founded with the mission to connect, support, and empower Latina women working in technology and a vision to achieve fair representation in leadership positions. The organization comprises more than 33,000 women working at over one thousand companies, including all of the top technology companies across multiple counties and continents.

As the fearless leader of Latinas in Tech, van Nierop tirelessly works to change the system from within, working with Latinas and Allies to create fair and inclusive environments. Additionally, she works with lawmakers at the city, state, and federal levels to help change the system from outside the tech ecosystem. She has been continuously named one of the top 100 most influential Latinas in the United States by Latino Leaders Magazine and listed as one of the 50 Most Powerful Latinas by the Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA).
