Rodney Atkins

Country Singer

Rodney Atkins, a well-established country music artist, boasts of eight Top 5 singles and six No. 1s in his repertoire. Along with over 943 million career on-demand streams, Atkins' contribution to Country music continues to be significant. His Platinum-selling No. 1 single, "Watching You," garnered him a BMI "Million-Air" award and the top spot on Country Aircheck's top-played songs of the decade list. This success led to Atkins being the second most-played male artist of the decade overall.

Since 1996, Atkins has been active in the music industry, having signed with Curb Records in that year. His first single charted on the Billboard country chart in 1997, which marked the beginning of a successful career. His substantial musical output includes multiple studio albums, notably, "If You're Going Through Hell," released in 2006, which yielded two number-one singles, and "Take a Back Road," whose title track became his sixth number-one single.

Acknowledgment of Atkins' talent extends beyond just his audience. He has been nominated for awards from both the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association, winning the Top New Male Vocalist from the former in 2006. In addition to his studio work, Atkins showcased his talent on tour, serving as an opening act on Brad Paisley's Bonfires & Amplifiers Tour in late 2007-early 2008.

Atkins has maintained his relevance in the contemporary country music scene. His single "Caught Up in the Country," released in 2018, set a record for the longest run on the country singles charts. This single, from the album of the same name, also earned him a Gold certification from the RIAA, contributing to his ten career Gold, Platinum, and Multi-Platinum RIAA certifications to date, including his latest Gold-certified single, “Thank God for You” which was released in 2021.
