Veteran legal analyst and legal news journalist Roger Cossack joined Court TV network’s daytime signature live trial coverage as an anchor in 2002. He serves as a substitute host for the daytime program “Open Court”, and contributes analysis to the network’s legal news specials.

Cossack joins Court TV from CNN, where he co-hosted the daily legal news program Burden of Proof. At CNN, he also provided commentary on a variety of legal issues, including the 2000 presidential recount, and the O.J. Simpson murder trial. He also contributed a regular column to the network’s online Law Center. Prior to CNN, Cossack was a prosecutor with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office where he tried local and federal cases in more than 20 states. He has also served as a defense counsel and argued U.S. vs. Leon in front of the U.S. Supreme Court in 1984.

Cossack has written for legal publications including the John Marshall Law Review, California Lawyer and the New York State Bar Criminal Journal. Cossack served as an assistant dean at UCLA, where he earned his Juris Doctor.
