Roger Lowenstein is a financial journalist and writer.

Lowenstein has published six books, three of which were New York Times bestsellers. In addition, he has written for many publications. He reported for The Wall Street Journal for more than a decade, including two years writing its Heard on the Street column, 1989 to 1991. Other publications he contributed to included Smart Money, The New York Times, Fortune, the Atlantic Monthly, and others. He has also written a number of major articles and cover stories for The New York Times Magazine.

He also serves as director of Sequoia Fund and on the Board of Trustees of Lesley University.
