Ron Chambers  

Ron Chambers is an associate professor and the Chair of the Department of Theatre and Dramatic Arts.

At the University of Lethbridge, where he began teaching as a sessional instructor in 1988. He has taught a myriad of courses in drama, has directed numerous department productions and has been consistently listed as a “popular professor” by Maclean’s magazine.

Chambers is also a playwright whose work has been produced across Canada and in the United States. He has won the Alberta Culture Playwriting Award, the Gwen Pharis Ringwood Award (Writer’s Guild of Alberta) and has been nominated for both the Elizabeth Sterling Haynes Award and Betty Mitchell Award for best new play. Chambers’ latest play, The Knowing Bird, is a finalist in the Herman Voaden National Playwriting Competition, which will have its professional premiere February 2007 in Calgary at the Alberta Theatre Project’s Enbridge playRites Festival of New Canadian Plays.
