Ron is a retired police chief with over 26 years of law enforcement experience. He has a master's degree in criminal justice, and has served in numerous leadership positions throughout his career. Ron currently serves as president of the Municipal Police Institute (the non-profit training affiliate of the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association). As president of MPI, Ron is involved in organizing and delivering leadership training at the annual Massachusetts Chiefs of Police training conference, and at the annual Massachusetts sergeants training conference.

Ron began training both recruit and veteran police officers at a Massachusetts police academy in 1994. By 1999, he was offering law enforcement training throughout Massachusetts as an independent trainer. In 2004, Ron founded Glidden Training & Consulting. Over the years, Ron has trained thousands of law enforcement professionals. Today, Ron travels throughout the United States giving presentations to both law enforcement officers and business leaders. He has become a nationally recognized trainer on leadership and interpersonal communication issues. Regardless of where he speaks, Ron's message is simple: sound leadership principles (regardless of rank or job title) combined with emotional competency and effective communication skills are essential to the success of any organization.
