Ron Masulis  

Distinguished Visiting Research Professor

Ron Masulis is Scholar-in-Residence at the Stern School of Business during the fall 2015 term. Prof. Masulis is co-teaching a Finance PhD elective “Seminar in Financial Institutions” along with Prof. Kose John.

Ron Masulis is a Scientia Professor and the Macquarie Group Chair of Financial Services at the UNSW School of Business, University of New South Wales and a visiting professor at NYU’s Stern School of Business. He has held positions at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the Federal Saving and Loan Insurance Corporation and the Federal Home Loan Bank Board. He is currently a Director of the Financial Intermediation Research Society and has previously served as a Director of the American Finance Association, the Western Finance Association, and the Financial Management Association. He serves or has served on the editorial boards of Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial Intermediation and Financial Management. He is also a Senior Academic Fellow of the Asia Bureau of Finance and Economic Research and Research Associate at the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI). His academic awards include five Journal of Financial Economics All Star Paper Awards, Monetary Authority of Singapore Term Professor in Economics and Finance at National University of Singapore and Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia (FASSA). Ron received his B.A. from Northeastern University and his M.B.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business.
