Ron Perlman

Actor; Known for "Hellboy" and the FX Hit Series "Sons of Anarchy"

Ron Perlmans creative collaboration with Guillermo del Toro began with the directors first film, Cronos, in 1993. The actor and director reunited nine years later for Blade 2. Then in 2004, Del Toro achieved a long-standing goal of casting Perlman as the title character in Hellboy, a role Perlman reprised in Hellboy II: The Golden Army, which grossed over $160 million worldwide at the box office.

The award-winning actor has built an intriguing body of work in film, television, and theater over nearly three decades. With a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Minnesota, he began his professional stage career in his native New York, delving into contemporary works by Pinter and Beckett, as well as the classics of Shakespeare, Marlowe, Ibsen, and Chekhov. He made two recent trips back to Broadway in A Few Good Men and Bus Stop.

His film career began in 1981 with a lead role in French director Jean-Jacques Annauds award-winning Quest for Fire, for which Perlman received a nomination for Canadas Genie Award. Five years later, Annaud cast him in the role of the hunchback Salvatore in the screen adaptation of Umberto Ecos The Name of the Rose, and finally in the epic World War II masterwork, Enemy At The Gates, co-starring opposite Jude Law, Rachel Weisz, and Ed Harris.

Perlmans work with French directors continued with a starring role in Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Marc Caros award winning City of Lost Children, which was nominated for the Palme DOr at Cannes in 1995 and for Best Foreign Film at the Independent Spirit Awards, along with a return collaboration when Jeunet cast him as 'Johner', opposite Sigourney Weaver and Winona Ryder, in his 1997 Alien: Resurrection.

Other film work includes roles in studio ventures such as The Island of Dr. Moreau, Romeo is Bleeding, Fluke, The Adventures of Huck Finn, Sleepwalkers, Happy, Texas and Star Trek: Nemesis, and The Last Winter. His independent film credits include The Last Supper, I Sell the Dead, and the Oscar-winning short, Two Soldiers.

Perlmans three-year run on the critically acclaimed television series Beauty and the Beast brought him a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor along with two Emmy nominations, and three Viewers for Quality Television Awards. Other television work includes HBOs The Second Civil War, Mr. Stitch, The Adventures of Captain Zoom, the Rob Nilsson adaptation of the Rod Serling classic A Town Has Turned to Dust.

His most recent feature film credits include Bunraku opposite Demi Moore, Josh Hartnett and Woody Harrelson, and Dominic Sena's Season of the Witch opposite Nicolas Cage. In the summer of 2011, Ron starred in Nicolas Refn's Drive opposite Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Albert Brooks and Bryan Cranson, as well as Lionsgate's Conan in which Ron played Conan's father. He just finished shooting Warner Bros.' Pacific Rim for his dear friend and constant collaborator, Guillermo Del Toro.

Currently, Ron can be seen starring in the hit FX series Sons of Anarchy, which is the highest rated show in the history of the network.
