Former Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations

Ron Prosor is Israel’s permanent representative to the UN, where, in 2012 and 2013, he served as vice president of the UN’s 67th General Assembly. Prosor was previously Israel’s ambassador to the United Kingdom, director general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and served in diplomatic roles in Washington, London, and Bonn. He was instrumental in establishing diplomatic relations behind the Iron Curtain following the fall of the Berlin Wall. Between 1998 and 2002, he was minister-counselor for political affairs at the Israeli Embassy in Washington, DC. Prosor was a major in the Israeli Defense Forces. His op-eds have appeared widely.
