Ron Elving is one of Washington's preeminent political analysts and commentators.

As the Senior Washington Editor for NPR News, he keeps his eye squarely on the personalities, issues, and public opinion that shape contemporary politics, including elections and the actions of Congress and The White House. Making frequent television and radio appearances, Ron Elving has appeared on CNN, CNBC, BBC, and National Public Radio (NPR). His book, entitled Conflict and Compromise: How Congress Makes the Laws, was first published by Simon & Schuster in 1995 and was so well received that it went into paperback production in mid-1996.
