Ronald Waldman  

Professor of Global Health, Milken Institute School of Public Health, The George Washington University

Ronald Waldman is a professor of global health at the Milken Institute School of Public Health at the George Washington University. An expert in infectious diseases and children's health, he joined the faculty in 2012. Earlier, Waldman served as the U.S. government's health coordinator for Haitian earthquake relief and as senior public health advisor to the UN humanitarian coordinator after flooding in Pakistan. In 2007, he became team leader for strategic preparedness against pandemics for the U.S. Agency for International Development. In 2004-05, he was the World Health Organization coordinator during the tsunami emergency in Indonesia. Waldman also was professor of clinical population and family health and professor of clinical epidemiology at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health. He is board president of Doctors of the World USA and was a member of WHO's Strategic Advisory Board of Experts. Waldman earned his medical degree at the University of Geneva and an M.P.H. from Johns Hopkins.
