Rose Lavelle, a professional soccer player, first carved out her career with the Boston Breakers and later enhanced her skills with Washington Spirit and Manchester City. Now a midfielder for NJ/NY Gotham FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), Lavelle has demonstrated her prowess on the field. She has left a considerable mark in the international arena, scoring 24 goals as of February 20, 2024. She has showcased her skills at various world-renowned stadiums, such as the BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, Gamla Ullevi in Gothenburg, and the Parc Olympique Lyonnais in Décines-Charpieu.
Lavelle's role in the United States national team has been pivotal. Her participation in the 2019 World Cup saw her start in six games, scoring three goals and earning the Bronze Ball. Her recognition as the sixth-best player in the world at The Best FIFA Football Awards, her inclusion in the 2019 FIFA FIFPro World XI, and her selection for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup roster underscore her impact on the sport. She also had an impressive run at the 2020 Olympics, where she scored a goal and helped secure a bronze medal for the team. Lavelle was also a member of the 2024 Olympic team, which won the gold medal. Her commendable performances led to her first overall selection in the 2017 NWSL College Draft, and she was named to the 2019 NWSL Best XI.
