Roy Bahat      

Head of Bloomberg Beta; Venture Capitalist & Entrepreneurship Lecturer

Roy Bahat is the head of Bloomberg Beta, an early-stage venture firm backed by Bloomberg L.P. that focuses on the future of work and artificial intelligence. Bahat is also a faculty member at U.C. Berkeley's Haas School of Business, where he teaches an MBA course on leading a unionized workforce. Prior to his role at Bloomberg Beta, he served as the Senior Policy Director for then-New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Aside from his work in venture capital and education, Bahat has made significant contributions to various social causes. He was involved with "Walk the Vote," a non-partisan group that organizes marches to voting booths to promote voter participation. Bahat was also a commissioner on the California Governor's Future of Work Commission, a governmental organization focused on the future of work and economic growth in California, following his work with the think-tank New America. His innovative and forward-thinking approach to business and social work led to his recognition as one of Fast Company’s Most Creative People in Business.

In addition to his current roles, Bahat serves on the board or as an advisor to several non-profits, including Stanford's Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society and the Economic Security Project. Notably, he also served on the board of a New York City Jewish day school, the Abraham Joshua Heschel School. Bahat graduated from Harvard College, where he ran the student public service nonprofit. He was then a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University. In 2013, Bahat was appointed head of Bloomberg Beta and is currently a partner along with Karin Klein and James Cham.
