Ruth Heidrich

A diagnosis of breast cancer challenged her to beat the cancer and become a world-class Ironman triathlete.

As a marathoner, she thought she was as fit and healthy as she could be. That was until she was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer. After research suggested her cancer was due to lifestyle, primarily the Western diet, she decided against chemo and radiation, changed to a vegan diet and, adding even more exercise, became an Ironman triathlete. The health benefits were so amazing in that this new lifestyle not only stopped and reversed the cancer, but it cured her arthritis, high risk of heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, constipation, backaches, depression, acne, and even her dandruff!

Armed with the information that she knew others needed to know, she went back to university to get her Ph.D. in Health Management. She already had degrees from UCLA and University of Hawaii in Psychology, but now she needed the theory of nutrition and exercise physiology so she could explain to others why this lifestyle worked for so many diseases. She thus became the "other" Dr. Ruth and continues to compete in races and give talks to those who want and need to improve their health.
