Ryan Leigh Dostie is a U.S. Army veteran and the author of "Formation: A Woman's Memoir of Stepping Out of Line." That book, which was released in June 2019, tells the story of Dostie's experience in the Army, where she was a linguist. She was "holding her own" until she was raped by one of her fellow soldiers. The memoir tells of her experiences dealing with PTSD, as well as the disbelief of her story by commanders, in the middle of an unexpected war.
