Ryan O’Callaghan attended UC Berkeley where he excelled at football, earning multiple awards including the best offensive lineman in the conference. O’Callaghan was drafted by the New England Patriots, and he went on to play for 6 years in the NFL.

Upon retirement, O’Callaghan came out as gay and started The Ryan O’Callaghan Foundation to help support other LGBTQ athletes. In 2019 Ryan published his memoir "My Life On The Line."
