Sam Bankman-Fried is the founder and CEO of quantitative crypto trading firm Alameda Research, managing $2.5 billion in assets, mostly from the Serum coin that he helped create. In 2019, he founded crypto-derivatives platform FTX, which recently raised $40 million at a $1.2 billion valuation. FTX trades futures on cryptocurrencies and Bankman-Fried owns approximately 50% of the company.

Before founding FTX, Sam was a trader on Jane Street Capital’s international ETF desk. He traded a variety of ETFs, futures, currencies, and equities, and designed their automated OTC trading system. He graduated from MIT with a degree in physics. Bankman Fried was featured on the following Forbes' 2021 Lists: Billionaires, Crypto Rich List, 30 Under 30 - Finance.
