Sam Esmail is the creator, executive producer and head writer of the cyberpunk–thriller television series Mr. Robot, which premiered on USA Network on June 24, 2015.

After he graduated from YU's Tisch School of the Arts, Esmail attended the American Film Institute's directing program where he received his Master of Fine Arts. In 2008, he wrote his first feature screenplay, "Sequels, Remakes & Adaptations," which landed on the Black List, a survey taken by more than 600 production companies and film financier executives about their most liked screenplays.
