Sam Talbot is a sustainable cuisine chef, author and television personality. He is a diabetes advocate and philanthropist.

Talbot was a participant in Season 2 of Bravo's "Top Chef," finishing as a semi-finalist in third place. He reappeared in the culinary competition in the "Four Star All Stars" episode, as well as in Season 14.

Talbot has an extensive background in the restaurant industry. He has held the position of executive chef at various New York City establishments, such as the Black Duck, Williamsburg Cafe, and Punch. Additionally, he is the founder of The Surf Lodge, and later, the Pretty Southern restaurant in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Talbot's culinary expertise extends beyond the kitchen to the written word, as evidenced by his authorship of "The Sweet Life: Diabetes without Boundaries." This book serves as both a memoir and a cookbook, providing valuable insights and recipes for diabetics. His commitment to this cause led him to co-found Beyond Type 1, a nonprofit organization dedicated to diabetes education and support, with Nick Jonas and others in 2015. However, he stepped down from the Board of Directors in 2020.

Further demonstrating his commitment to community service, Talbot worked with Mike D of the Beastie Boys to deliver over 20,000 meals to individuals impacted by Superstorm Sandy, utilizing a food truck for this massive effort. This endeavor, along with his appearances on popular television shows such as "The Real Housewives of New York City," have solidified his reputation not only as a leading figure in the culinary world, but also as a philanthropist and a public figure of note.
