Founder of Tatum Robotics, Pioneering Technology for the Deaf & Blind Communities

Samantha Johnson is the founder and CEO of Tatum Robotics, a company dedicated to enhancing accessibility for the deafblind community through innovative robotic technology. Her journey into assistive technology began during her studies at Northeastern University, where she earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees in bioengineering. Her master's thesis focused on developing a robotic system to facilitate communication for deafblind individuals -- enabling them to read and communicate when they do not have an interpreter or ASL speaker nearby -- laying the foundation for Tatum Robotics.

Under her leadership, Tatum Robotics has gained recognition for its pioneering work. In 2022, Johnson was awarded first place in Northeastern's Women Who Empower Innovator Awards and in 2024, was named to Forbes' 30 Under 30 list.
