Sameer Gandhi

Partner, Accel Partners

Sameer Gandhi is Accel's heavy hitter now that Jim Breyer has stepped down from leading the firm. A partner at Accel since 2008, he led the firm's investments in Dropbox (a pickup from his earlier days at Sequoia; he is still on the Dropbox board), Flipkart (valued at $15 billion) and Quidsi, which Amazon bought for $545 million in 2011. Exits last year include cloud software firm Opower (IPO in April), online fashion portal Myntra (acquired by Flipkart in May) and Dropcam (acquired by Google/Nest in June). Earlier hits include Barracuda Networks (IPO 2013), Trulia (IPO 2012) and Sourcefire (IPO 2007, acquired by Cisco for $2.7B in 2013). Gandhi is also on the boards of Birchbox, Spotify, Bonobos, Jet.com, Crowdstrike and Plex Systems. Outside of Accel, Sameer is a frequent speaker at the Stanford Graduate School of business because he is passionate about sharing real-world lessons with the next generation of entrepreneurs. Sameer is also a Trustee of the Stanford Business School Trust.
