Sandy Kennedy is the Chief Executive of Entrepreneurial Scotland and The Saltire Foundation.

Its vision is, working with others, to inspire and develop Scotland's people to build the most entrepreneurial society in the world. Entrepreneurial Scotland is a peer network that commits to inspire, develop and connect current and future high impact entrepreneurial leaders worldwide to ignite economic growth in Scotland.

The Saltire Foundation seeks to find, fuel and spark Scotland's next generation of entrepreneurial leaders. It is more than the philanthropic dimension of Entrepreneurial Scotland. It is the turbo charger, accelerating the flow of high quality talent into the system through its Fellowship and Scholar Intern programmes, infusing Entrepreneurial Scotland every year with ambition, new thinking and a global mindset,

Sandy's extensive commercial background has involved the successful startup of Bowie Castlebank Group's online and direct business, the turnaround and growth of over 600 of their physical retail stores, as well as securing a partnership agreement with the largest supermarket chain in the UK. Since 2009, Sandy has led The Saltire Foundation growing its programmes by over 100% and delivering a sustainable business model.

Educated at Cambridge University he became a qualified lawyer with Ashursts in London specialising in private equity. He joined 3i, the venture capital firm, in 1996 and worked on a mix of traditional leveraged deals and tech venture capital. In 2000, he won the Chris Hill Prize for best overall MBA student at Strathclyde.
