Sara Bareilles, an American singer, songwriter, and actress, has made significant strides in the music industry, selling over three million albums and over 15 million singles in the United States alone. Her second studio album, "Little Voice", included the hit single "Love Song", which climbed to number four on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned her a Grammy nomination for Song of the Year.

Bareilles composed and wrote lyrics for the musical "Waitress", which earned her both Tony and Grammy nominations. She further showcased her versatility in Broadway productions like "SpongeBob SquarePants" and a revival of "Into the Woods", each earning her Tony nominations. In 2018, Bareilles received critical acclaim for her portrayal of Mary Magdalene in the NBC musical television special "Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert", leading to an Emmy nomination. At present, she stars as Dawn Solano in the musical comedy series "Girls5eva".

Her career beginnings saw her signing a contract with Epic Records in 2005, leading to the release of her breakthrough album, "Little Voice", which climbed to No. 7 on the Billboard 200 chart. Contributions to the film industry include performing two songs for the film "Bounty Killer" and co-writing and performing the original song "If I Dare" for the 2017 movie "Battle of the Sexes".

In addition to her musical accomplishments, Bareilles has also penned a book titled "Sounds Like Me: My Life (So Far) in Song". She has been recognized for her talent with multiple awards, including the ASCAP Vanguard Award at the 2008 ASCAP Pop Music Awards and the Gold Medal Award for Singer-Songwriter at the Global Music Awards in 2014. In 2020, she won a Grammy Award for Best American Roots Performance for her song "Saint Honesty".
