In her current role as Vice President of Communications at GLAAD, Kennedy leads the organization's News, Rapid Response, Campaigns, Digital, and Creative teams — working to script GLAAD's response to current events, engage LGBTQ communities, shape media coverage, and recently, spearheading the launch of GLAAD's Recommendations for Corporate Allies.

As a sought after communications, public education, and legislative strategist, Kennedy has led work for National LGBTQ Task Force, Athlete Ally, LPAC-the lesbian SuperPAC, and more than a dozen LGBTQ statewide campaigns, including leading communications for historic marriage equality campaigns from Iowa to New York. Additionally, Kennedy has developed a global housing policy effort for Habitat for Humanity, mobilized urban and rural communities on the ground in Indonesia as part of Unilever Foundation's public health initiative, run public education efforts for Everytown for Gun Safety, and led a groundbreaking LGBTQ advocacy campaign for the ACLU.

Previously, Kennedy held external relations roles with Zillow and Airbnb, leading the companies' work with government, nonprofits, and local communities, including development of product solutions to help tenants with housing vouchers.

A graduate of the E. W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University, Kennedy began her career as a writer and editor for The Advocate magazine.
