Sarah Nurse is a leading Canadian ice hockey player recognized for her exceptional skill and impact on the game. Born in Hamilton, Ontario, she currently plays for the PWHL Toronto Sceptres and is a member of the Canadian National Team. She earned Olympic gold in 2022 and silver in 2018 and has secured multiple medals at the IIHF World Women's Hockey Championships, including gold in 2017 and 2019. In 2022, she set the record for most assists and most points in a single Olympic tournament. Alongside these notable point records, Nurse became the first Black woman to win an Olympic gold in hockey, pathing the way for thousands of young Black girls hoping to follow in her footsteps.

Off the ice, Nurse has worked tirelessly to grow the game, helping to bring the PWHL to life, negotiating the first-ever collective bargaining agreement, and building her own charitable initiatives in partnership with Black Girl Hockey Club. Her work in the boardroom earned her the role of Vice President of the PWHL Players Association. Nurse’s work on the ice and off the ice has made her one of the most recognizable names in hockey, earning her recognition on the Forbes 30 Under 30 List in 2022 and as Toronto’s Most Influential in 2024.
