Communication Strategist, Journalist & Grassroots Activist

Sarah Rumpf is an experienced communications strategist with a strong background in new media and grassroots activism. She has advised a long list of political party organizations, PACs, nonprofits, think tanks, businesses, and local, state, and federal campaigns on election and campaign finance law, communication strategies, social media, public relations, and grassroots outreach.

Rumpf previously served as the Strategic Communications Manager for Right on Crime, a criminal justice reform initiative at the Texas Public Policy Foundation. As the digital communications director for Evan McMullin’s 2016 presidential campaign, she helped build a national online grassroots network from scratch in three months, including hundreds of thousands of Twitter followers and Facebook pages that reached millions of people organically every day.

After graduation, Rumpf served as the Orlando-Melbourne Regional Chair for the UF Law Alumni Council, the general counsel for the Orange County Republican Executive Committee, the social media director for the Texas Young Republican Federation, a continuing legal education instructor for the Republican National Lawyers Association, and volunteered with the Orange County Legal Aid Society’s Guardian ad Litem program.

In addition to her consulting work, Rumpf is a front page contributor at RedState and her writing has been featured on websites including National Review, The Daily Beast, Independent Journal Review, Heat Street, Texas Monthly, Orlando Political Observer, Breitbart, and Legal Insurrection, as well as op-eds published by the Orlando Sentinel and the Austin-American Statesman. In 2016, she helped launch The Capitolist, a Florida-based politics and news site, and currently serves as its Editor-at-Large.

Rumpf’s political commentary has led to appearances on MSNBC, Fox News, One America News Network, Fox 35 Orlando, Fox 7 Austin, and numerous television, radio, and podcast programs around the country. She has been listed on best political twitter lists in three states (Florida, Massachusetts, and Texas).

A past volunteer with the Austin Animal Center’s foster program, Rumpf currently lives in Tallahassee with an orange tabby cat named Queso.
