English Actress known for "Mississippi Masala"

Sarita Choudhury, a British actress, made her screen debut in the romantic drama film Mississippi Masala in 1991, where she played Mina. Since the late 1990s and continuing to the present day, Choudhury has added to her extensive repertoire by playing numerous supporting roles in American and international films and television shows, beginning with the thriller A Perfect Murder, 3 A.M., and the John Cassavetes remake Gloria.

In 2002, she starred in Just a Kiss. She played a lesbian virgin in Spike Lee's She Hate Me and acted as Anna Ran in Lady in the Water, a 2006 thriller by M. Night Shyamalan. Notably, she played leading roles in movies such as Fresh Kill, Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love, For Real, and Evil Eye. Choudhury also had a recurring role in the NBC police drama series "Homicide: Life on the Street" as Dr. Kalyani and starred as Mira Berenson in the Showtime series "Homeland."

She also appeared in the Netflix series "Jessica Jones" and the HBO Max series "And Just Like That..." as Seema Patel, a Manhattan powerhouse real estate broker. Moreover, she continued her illustrious career by playing Egeria, the Capitol's Minister of Interior, in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. Her role as Sophia Varma, the Deputy White House Political Director in the NBC crime drama series, "Blindspot," added further recognition to her career.

One of her significant roles was opposite Tom Hanks in the comedy-drama film A Hologram for the King. In 2021, she not only joined the cast of HBO Max's "Sex and the City" revival television series "And Just Like That...," but she also starred and executive produced the family drama series "The Colony" based on the 2019 film Stray Dolls.
