Sasha Issenberg is a journalist and author of five books, on topics ranging from the global sushi business to medical tourism to the science of political campaigns. He covered the 2008 election as a national political reporter in the Washington bureau of The Boston Globe; the 2012 election for Slate; the 2016 election for Bloomberg Politics and Businessweek; and the 2020 contest for The Recount.

Issenberg's most recent book, "The Lie Detectors: In Search of a Playbook for Winning Elections in the Disinformation Age" is a follow-up to his earlier work, "The Victory Lab." His previous book, "The Engagement: America's Quarterly Struggle Over Same-Sex Marriage," was a New York Times Book Review Notable Book of the Year.

Issenberg teaches in the political science department at the University of California at Los Angeles and is the Washington correspondent for Monocle, where he covers politics, business, diplomacy, and culture. His work has also appeared in New York magazine, The New York Times Magazine and George, where he was a contributing editor.
