Scott Borchetta

Founder, President, and CEO, Big Machine Label Group

Scott Borchetta is the Founder, President and CEO of Big Machine Label Group, the #1 independent record label in the world home to superstars including Taylor Swift, Reba McEntire and Florida Georgia Line, selling more than 40 million albums. Scott crosses boundaries in new media, pushing Big Machine beyond a “record label” toward complete cultural saturation, winning Grammy’s, American Music Awards, Country Music Association Awards and more. He was honored on Billboard’s Power 100, awarded the Presidential Award at Nashville’s Music Biz 2015 luncheon, spent 2 years on American Idol and executive produced Best Original Song Academy Award nominee for the documentary GLEN CAMPBELL…I’LL BE ME.

He started the label in 2005 with 13 employees, and is its president and CEO.

Borchetta grew up in San Fernando Valley, South California in the 1970s. His father, Mike Borchetta, worked in record promotions for several Los Angeles record labels, including Capitol Records, RCA Records and Mercury Records.

His parents divorced when he was 9 years old. In 1978, when Borchetta was 16, his father moved to Nashville to start his own independent record promotion company.

While still in California, Borchetta attended College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, California, for a year before dropping out.
