Since joining Zipcar as chairman and chief executive officer in 2003, Scott Griffith has not only solidified Zipcar as the world's leading car-sharing network but has also been at the forefront of the evolution of car sharing, fostering its emergence as a new transportation category over the last decade.

Through organic business growth and strategic acquisitions, expansion into international markets and a successful public offering in 2011, Griffith's innovative vision has spurred Zipcar's reach and impact - allowing the company to help reduce congestion, ease parking demands and lower communities' overall carbon footprints. Griffith has spearheaded groundbreaking partnerships that have transformed Zipcar and the transportation industry alike - including with several top global brands, the world's largest automakers, as well as countless transit agencies, universities and influential city and state governments.

Zipcar continues to change urban life by providing instant, affordable mobility in 19 major metropolitan areas and more than 250 college campuses in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Spain and Austria.

Griffith was one of Huffington Post's 2010 Game-Changers in Transportation, Corporate Responsibility Magazine's 2010 Social Entrepreneur CEO of the Year and one of BusinessWeek's Best Leaders of 2006. Griffith is a sought-after speaker who shares his powerful insights about branding, executive leadership and self-innovation at premier industry events, including the Inc. 500, Economist Ideas and Fortune Brainstorm Green, among many others.

Prior to Zipcar, Griffith held senior level positions at The Boeing Company; Information America, an Atlanta-based provider of online public record information; and The Parthenon Group, a boutique business strategy and investment firm. Griffith earned his Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He also serves on the board of directors for both the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center and The Alliance for Business Leadership.
