Scott Tan helped developed an artificial synapse made of single-crystalline materials as part of an effort to develop neuromorphic computers - computers with hardware that mimics the human brain. His goal is to build a brain-inspired computer system that could enable better language translators, rescue robots, and more. Currently, he is developing brain-inspired artificial synapses for neuromorphic computers.
